Provenance: from the Aldrich bequest, listed in Archives 1717, item I31, as 'Another piece of Battista Bassani Op. 5ta. 3 Books', qualified in Dowding (main hand) as 'Sonate di Bassano à 2. 3. Stromenti. Opera 5ta'.

Upright format, 320 x 195 mm. Early C18th wrappers of thick grey paper; each partbook is now stitched into a folder of modern card and mounted impermanently on cords within an early C20th folder of stiff card and vellum. Original upper wrappers annotated in an unidentified hand, early C18th: 'Sonate da Bassani opera quinta', together with the part-name. Shelfmark 'I.31' on outside original upper wrappers of Mus. 838-9, and on inside original upper wrapper of Mus. 840. Bookplate 2 in all three volumes. C19th shelfmarks: K.4.52-4.
